Roasted garlic in the air fryer

Ingredients:
Whole garlic bulbs
Olive oil
Salt (optional)
Pepper (optional)
Herbs (optional, such as rosemary or thyme)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Garlic Bulbs:

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Peel away any loose outer layers of the garlic bulb skin, leaving the cloves intact.
Using a sharp knife, slice off the top portion of each garlic bulb to expose the individual cloves.
2. Season the Garlic:

Drizzle the exposed cloves with olive oil, ensuring each clove is coated.
Optionally, sprinkle the garlic cloves with a pinch of salt, pepper, and herbs for added flavor.
3. Roast in the Air Fryer:

Place the prepared garlic bulbs in the air fryer basket or on the air fryer tray, cut side up.
Roast the garlic in the air fryer for 20-25 minutes, or until the cloves are golden brown and tender. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the size of the garlic bulbs and the efficiency of your air fryer.
4. Check for Doneness:

To test if the roasted garlic is done, insert a fork or knife into one of the cloves. It should feel soft and easily mashable.
If the garlic cloves are not yet tender, continue roasting for an additional 5-10 minutes, checking for doneness periodically.
5. Serve or Store:

Once the roasted garlic is done, remove it from the air fryer.
Allow the garlic bulbs to cool slightly before handling.
To extract the roasted garlic cloves, simply squeeze the base of each bulb, and the softened cloves should pop out easily.
Serve the roasted garlic cloves as a flavorful addition to dishes like mashed potatoes, pasta, roasted vegetables, or spread onto crusty bread.
Alternatively, store any leftover roasted garlic cloves in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
